FAQs

  • Our signature mat class is programmed to last 50-55 minutes. Expect to move non-stop!

  • Yes the room is heated to about 80-84 degrees.

  • Wear anything that feels comfortable to move and sweat in.

Wear a pair of supportive athletic sneakers. Telluride is a dusty place in the summer, and slushy in the winter, please try to wear a pair of clean or “indoor” shoes to help keep our space tidy.

  • We provide all necessary equipment included in the cost of class. If you prefer not to use studio equipment, I can provide a list of equipment needed and you can bring your own. Bring a hydrating beverage, and a towel or yoga towel to help manage sweat!

  • Once you sign up and book, just show up with an open mind! Your first class might feel overwhelming, and you will definitely have moments of “what is going on?” But every other person around you started out just like you… Rome wasn’t built in a day! Every time you come back you will become more versed in how the class flows and eventually you will be able to anticipate the instructors next move, I promise!

  • Group classes will be led by instructors extensively trained in the AMS method.

Instruction will be mostly non-verbal, but the instructor completes the entire workout with the class.

We have a wall of mirrors so you will be able to see the instructor from all angles, to help you exactly match their movement

  • Absolutely! Every class can be modified to accommodate beginners, injuries, and abilities. Maybe that means using less weight, no weight, taking breaks to complete fewer reps, or modifying a movement to accommodate your needs. Instructors will offer modifications to many movements throughout class.

  • The first focus should be on range of motion and nailing the choreography of each movement. Maybe this is first done with no added weight at all!

Next step is to match the instructor’s pace and complete all the prescribed reps without taking breaks.

If you are hitting each move, matching pace and doing all the reps without feeling adequately challenged… then it’s time to add weight! This is one of the ways the method can be advanced for the experienced workout queen/ king.

Instructors will offer weight suggestions at the beginning of each class, but ultimately the choices are yours!

  • If your doctor has cleared you to exercise during pregnancy, yes! However, at times it may be difficult for instructors to offer pregnancy safe modifications in the group setting.

If you were experienced in the method prior to your pregnancy and feel confident that you can modify in a group setting, come to class.

I would however highly recommend private training for pregnant clients, as all movements can be tailored to be pregnancy-safe and help you strengthen your body specifically for the demands of childbirth and motherhood.

  • Studio space is limited, cancellations must be completed at least 12-hours prior to the scheduled start of a class. This class credit will then return to your account.
